what i have learned about my self

After writing an autoethnographic i have learned two main things about myself. i noticed that i am layed back person who like to be in sometype of comfert zone. i came to learn these facts by looking at my past writings.

One of the first characteristics I noticed was that I have a real easy going personality. The way I came to this conclusion is in all of my writings I like to talk about activities that help me relax. My first paper is about fishing, the second is about eating, the third is about chewing smokeless tobacco, my fourth talks about massage therapy, and the last one is about turkey hunting. Any time when I am frustrated or upset in some way I like to do any one of these activates.

I also found a common pattern in my writings. I noticed that in all of my writing I have picked a subject that I am comfortable with. What this is telling me is that I like to stay in my comfort zone. Now don’t get me wrong I do like to try new activities but I also like to have some type of idea about them. I think it is amazing what a person can learn about themselves after writing an autoethnography.

The way I think that I am going to expand my paper is that I am going to stay on course with what I am doing now by talking about my essays from beginning to end. I really don’t think that any paragraphs need more work, my only problem is my spelling and grammar needs worked on. I don’t think I need any outside source because this paper is about me and the only source I need is me. No as of now, I don’t think my paragraphs need stronger transition sentences.

What is autoethnography? Where did it start? What makes it different from other types of research? How does one do it? To tell the truth I have no clue what an autoethnography is so in order to get better knowledge of what this is for me and the reader I am going to use mostly outside sources to better explain these questions I set forth. According to (wikipedia.org) “autoethnography is related to ethnography, which is a recognized qualitative research method where a researcher uses participant observation and interviews in order to gain a deeper understanding of a group’s culture, and can also help us to understand and/or theorize modes of human behavior within a group and across different groups. Often, but not always, the researcher is a member of the group in question rather than the traditional outsider ethnographer. As a variation of conventional ethnography (which has its roots in anthropology), autoethnography is now becoming more widely used (though controversial) in other disciplinary contexts, including performance studies, the sociology of new media, novels, journalism, and communication.” “Autoethnography is a term used for a wide range of writing by social science researchers which recognises and includes the self in the text. It is the act of self-narrative; a work of self-reflexivity through text, and at the same time it must be autobiography with an eye to the wider issues of interest to others, a method that places the self within a social context, connecting the personal to the cultural (sikkim-letters.livejournal.com)’. The best way to explain how to write a autoethnography way best put by (humboldt.edu) “ Autoethnographic text – a text in which people undertake to describe themselves in ways that engage with representations others have made of them. These are merged or infiltrated to varying degrees with indigenous idioms to create self-representations intended to intervene in the metropolitan modes of understanding”.

this song has more of a dark feel to it. it talks about helloween . i would call this a matel, but it put words toghther nicely.

the song that i listened to had a rhyming and a bumpie beat to it . the song put words together andfast but had a fell good feeling to it. i would think of this being like a punk type of song.

What is sound? “Sound is the vibration of matter, as perceived by the sense of hearing. Physically, sound is vibrational mechanical energy that propagates through matter as a wave (wikipedia.org 2008). Sound is used in a verity of ways, and most animal’s use of the sense of sound depends on their survival. One of the most well known of these animals is dolphins. Dolphins are marine mammals they are not fish. Dolphins use sound for a variety of reason they use it to communicate, navigation, and to find food. Dolphins produce sound by passing air through air sacs in their heads to produce vocalizations (“Animals and Sound in the Sea”). This sound is called Echolocation, “it can be used to see better under water, because under water color is really dark and dull” (“Dolphins”). Without the ability of echolocation dolphins would be not be alive today. Yes sound is important to human beings but if it is looked at in a broader sense other animals depend on it a hell of a lot more then what we do. Dolphins use the sense of sound for a verity of reasons from communicating to using it for sight. Without their abilities to manipulate sound and use it with such accuracy is way the dolphin is such a great predator.
